Vilitra 20 Mg is manufactured by Centurion Laboratories and contains Vardenafil 20mg. Vardenafil is the active ingredient in the branded medicine Levitra. It belongs to the same class of medicines as sildenafil and tadalafil (PDE5 inhibitors) but has a slightly different chemical structure that gives it some distinct clinical advantages for certain men.
Vardenafil may be a better choice if you have tried sildenafil and found it did not work well, or if you experienced troublesome visual side effects. Studies show vardenafil has a slightly stronger selectivity for PDE5 over PDE6 (the retinal enzyme) compared to sildenafil, which may explain why visual disturbances are less commonly reported. It also shows strong results in men with diabetes-related ED.
Vilitra 20 Mg begins working in about 25 to 60 minutes and the effect lasts 4 to 5 hours. It is one of the faster-acting PDE5 inhibitors, with some men noticing effects in as little as 15 to 25 minutes.
Common: Headache, flushing, nasal congestion, indigestion, dizziness. Visual disturbances are less frequent than with sildenafil.
Serious: Priapism, QT interval prolongation (rare), sudden vision or hearing changes, severe low blood pressure. Seek urgent help if any of these occur.
Take one tablet with water 25 to 60 minutes before sex. Swallow whole - do not crush or chew. A light meal is fine but avoid high-fat meals as they reduce absorption. Do not take more than one tablet per 24 hours.
Standard dose: one 20mg tablet as needed, maximum once per day. Lower doses (5mg, 10mg) are available for men who require them.
Vardenafil inhibits PDE5 in the corpus cavernosum. It has a higher binding affinity for PDE5 than sildenafil and slightly greater selectivity for PDE5 over PDE6. During sexual arousal, it preserves cGMP levels, relaxes penile smooth muscle, and increases blood flow to produce and sustain an erection. Its effect on vision-related PDE6 is lower, which may reduce visual side effects.
Do not use with nitrate medicines or Class IA or III antiarrhythmic drugs (such as quinidine or sotalol) due to QT prolongation risk. Not suitable for men with severe liver disease, end-stage renal disease on dialysis, or recent cardiovascular events. Caution with alpha-blockers and potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (ketoconazole, erythromycin). Not for women or anyone under 18.
On-demand medicine with no fixed schedule. There is no missed dose. Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
The difference is the vardenafil dose - 20mg versus 60mg. Vilitra 20 Mg is the standard therapeutic dose and the right starting point for most men. The 60mg tablet is for those who have not had enough benefit from 20mg.
Neither is universally better. Individual responses vary. Vardenafil may suit men who experienced visual side effects with sildenafil or who found sildenafil did not work as well for them, particularly with diabetic ED.
Most men experience onset within 25 to 60 minutes. Some notice effects as quickly as 15 minutes, making it one of the faster-acting PDE5 inhibitors.
A light meal is fine. Avoid high-fat meals as they reduce the rate of absorption and may delay onset.
Store below 30 degrees C in a dry, protected location. Keep out of the reach of children.
